300 Days “Shipwrecked” On A Deserted Island

Few years ago Tom Hanks starred in “Cast Away”, a film about a man that was shipwrecked in a deserted island, somewhere in the Pacific ocean. He stayed on that island for some years and lived exclusively on the food that he found on the island. Now Xavier Rosset, a French explorer and adventurer is planning of repeating a similar feat and stay for 300 days on a deserted island in the South Pacific near Tonga. He will take with him a Swiss army knife, a video camera and a solar panel to charge the camera. He will use the camera to record footage of his adventure and compose a 52 minute documentary of his experience.
Like Tom Hanks’ character, he will too live off the island’s natural resources.
See a video of Xavier below.

Adsense: Changes In The Privacy Policy

Google changed the terms of use of their Adsense advert service. The users now have a chance till 25th of May to agree to the new terms or not (hence to interrupt the service). I did a quick browsing and found the following:

USA Court Shuts Down WikiLeaks

The wikileaks is a wiki website which allows anyone to publish anonymously documents that may prove illegal activities of companies and governments worldwide.
From time to time it has been the center of media since many scandals had been reveled through its thousands of users. Few days ago the Court of California ordered Dynadot that controls wikileaks.org to erase it from its servers. The reason was a lawsuit made from a Swiss bank which according to wikileaks it was used to launder money. Instead of serving a fine to wikileaks or an order to remove the documents in question etc, they decided to discontinue the service of the domain.
Wikileaks may not be accessible anymore but it can still be found through its IP http://88.80.13.160. Unfortunately, I think though this act they have found a way to battle “successfully” such revelations.
Blogger Arrest Over Faking Morocco Prince Facebook Account

This is probably one of the stupidest ways for someone to loose their freedom. I read that 26 year old Fouad Mourtada got arrested in Casablanca for creating a Facebook account profile using Morocco Princes name, Moulay Rachid, the Kings brother.
The state news agency said that it is the only source of information regarding the Royal family and that no Royal family member is behind any website or blog.
uTIPu: Screen Capturing at its best
uTIPu.com is probably the simplest and easiest way to record in video whatever appears in your monitor, including your actions. It also allows you to publish your video on your site.
The program that uTIPu is using is called TipCam and it is so easy that anyone can use it. Setting it up requires very few buttons to push and handling it is a breeze. When you are done with the capturing you can either store the video or simply just upload it on the uTIPu servers so you and your friends can see it online and also upload/link it to your website/blog. The only drawback is that the default code for embedding is for a 640 width. If you want something smaller you actually have to go in and change the code.
If you want to give it a go you can find it here.
Cloverfield

I just saw the trailer of Cloverfield. It is a movie that will reach the cinemas on the 18th of January in the US and it already has made an impression - at least online. Its all about disaster and a monster is involved. Many have already called it a bad version of Godzilla, nevertheless the trailer alone has made me curious to see it
I think it will be a different movie to what we have been used to and it will win the impressions of the viewers regardless if monsters invading cities is a worn off topic. The movie’s website is 1-18-08.com and it has some pictures so you can get the feel for the movie. See the trailer below.
