May 11 is going to be a big day in history of Lasagna. The world’s largest lasagna will weight 8,800 pounds (that is as much as an average adult elephant) and will be unveiled by the Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant at the finish line of the Race for the Cure in Schenley Park on Sunday.
There is already an auction on ebay where for every 3$ you bid you win a ticket to exchange with a piece of this lasagna. If you want you can buy all the 9,600 slices of this 35? x 35? lasagna by paying the buy it now price of $28,800.00!
The restaurant has also started a blog with the steps of making of this world record. You can read some interesting facts there, i.e. the inventory of the restaurant has already 3,000 pairs of latex gloves and 6,000 feet of syran wrap to fulfill the event needs. They have also ordered about 12,000 miniature Italian Flags as it is the restaurants tradition to stick one on their lasagne’s plates.
