NASA’s Phoenix arrived on Mars on May 25th in order to spend a 3 month journey searching for ice (water) and proof of primitive life forms. Well yesterday Phoenix dug up something strange, it found a layer of white substance a few inches underneath Mars’ red soil. Scientists believe its not ice but may be some sort of salt and hope that ice might be found beneath it.

Update: NASA now believes that the white material might have been ice as after four days is disappeared (evaporated). Read the report here.

What you see in the photo above is a taste of the future and more specifically a taste of the future luxurious yachting. U.S. Submarines presents the Phoenix 1000, which is a 65 meter (213 foot) submarine. But this is not an ordinary sub, it is a luxury boat, designed for going places in a private manner.

If though the Phoenix seems too big for you then how about the Seattle 1000, which isĀ  36 meter (118 foot) long and boasts a 3000 nautical mile cruising rangeĀ  enough to cross the Atlantic. It is also equipped with an 1100 kilowatt-hours battery that gives it enough power to stay underwater for up to 20 days.
