huvo-2 Topia Corp presented at the 19th Design Engineering and Manufacturing Solutions Expo an electric vehicle calle "HUVO" that weights only 330lb! According to the company, if a car of the same size a HUVO was made with existing standard, its weight would be about 300kg, twice as HUVO’s

The materials used for HUVO were high-tensile steel plate, aluminum alloy, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), polycarbonate, and ABS resin.

At least, at this weight, HUVO can stand on Wii Board without trouble as it is on Wii’s weight limits :)

The European Union (EU) decided to follow Australia’s example and faze out the use of incandescent lightbulbs, starting from 2009. The fluorescent bulbs that will replace the old technology use five times less energy and last ten times longer, than the old counterpart, which in turn compensates the extra cost. Europeans are expected to save ?5-8 billion from this move. This will not only help reduce the CO2 emissions but also lighten the burden on each country’s power plants.

Some times luck or an accident can create the next breakthrough in science and change our life’s. The sun caused a chemical reaction to the compound and the bottle turned into a 60 watt strong light bulb.

Imagine having a wallpaper that lights up your house. Well you do not have to imagine any more. Jonas Samson, an interior designer from the Netherlands, has came up with new kind of wallpaper that lights up your room and your life. Jonas designed this as part of his final-year postgraduate degree and that alone is very promising. This 2D light source uses light emitting diodes (LEDs), that have little power consumption at low cost. To create conventional items into works of high tech design is certainly a unique skill and we are looking forward for Jonas next idea.

This innovative idea will soon become an every day reality when the Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) technology become more commercial. See a video of Anil Duggal of GE Global Research who explains the idea behind OLEDs

Even though we are far from creating the first human torch, Matian Shaman made the first step by creating a flaming glove! It probably does not have any real use but you will definitely steal the show in parties. From next year this will be available in all Halloween shops:P See the video

NIKE’s Sick Advert

They are light, modern, trendy, and many more. Nike shoes are known not only for their quality but also for their adverts. I think thought this time they went too far.

I think the adverts point is that wearing this shoe you feel so comfortable and light that its like you are not wearing any shoes. I am not sure who made it and where it is aired but I think its a bit sick.
