UK Supermarkets Are Rationing Rice Supplies

Panic and mass hysteria have caused UK supermarkets to rationing rice supplies. Customers feared of a global rice shortage and rushed to buy as much as possible.
Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl and many more have placed rationing quotas on rice hoping to control the citation. The panic has started since the price of rice increased 70% in the last year.
Last time major supermarkets in the UK placed such measures was back in the 70’s during strikes from food producers. The rice crisis has affected areas with large Asian populations as they are the major consumers of this product.

Natalie eats only Tic Tac !

I have never seen anything like this before. The 17 year old Natalie Cooper from Maidstone has this rare medical condition where she gets sick if she eats anything. To keep her alive she is fed processed food through a special tube.
Natalie has made countless experiments and she has discovered that her body can only tolerate Tic Tacs! These small candies do not cause her any side effects hence they are ideal incase she gets a bit hungry while she is out with her friends. The taste of mint together with the small size of the Tic Tacs is what enables her organism to accept them.

Vertical land

According to recent studies until 2050 80% of the worlds population would live near the city. The world population is said to increase by 3 billion people, something that will make the supply of food difficult. This will mean that we will need vast areas of land to grow more food.
A solution to this could be the Vertical Farm Project which are multi story buildings which will operate as farms.

Foodscape: Art with fruit and vegetables

Carl Warner is a photographer and one of his projects, called Foodscape, involves using fruit and veggies to create a scene. Every picture is made up only from food that are placed in such a way as to depict something different. So in the picture above we see garlic, lemons, bananas and pears to represent hot air balloons and corns with cucumbers placed in such a way as to give the illusion that there are farm fields in the photo.

Of course this cannot be compared with the “splendit” idea of a bakery in Thailand to make breads shaped like body parts! See the video below for more info.
