US Forces Suffer Major Blow From Infected Iraqi Porn DVD’s

A wise man once said:
In a world without walls and fences there is no need for Gates and Windows…
US soldiers in Iraq definitely have to set up some software “walls” in their laptops as many get infected by viruses. The infection, as it is stated in Washington Post, in most cases comes from porn DVD’s that the soldiers buy in Iraqi markets. These bootlegged DVDs contain malicious software that tends to spread from PC to PC when soldiers share these disks between them.

Google Me - The Movie

The Washington Post calls Jim Killeen “The Man Who Found Himself.” “It all started when I googled my name” said Killeen of his film “Google Me“, a feature-length documentary about LA resident Jim Killeen who, like so many of us, googled his name one idle evening in a moment of curiosity.
The difference here that the filmmaker actually followed up on his findings by not only contacting the discovered namesakes, but also traveling to whatever remote location was called for to meet and interview the subjects of his search.
For a limited time this film is available on his youtube channel splitted in several clips. Since Tuesday you can also order the dvd for $24.95

Computers Are Now Allowed In Cuba

Today I learned two things. First the new Cuban president allows his citizens to have electronic equipment and second is that till now it was not allowed. Only companies and foreigners were allowed to have a TV and a computer. All DVD’s were held in customs.
The new president made this move, according to Reuters, to bring his people closer to him. Every Cuban can now own a Plasma TV and if they survive the cultural shock then they can try buying a computer.
To get an Air Condition they need to wait a bit due to the high demand in electricity.
Lunar Legacy: Send Your Picture to the Moon

In 1972 Charles Duke during his trip to the moon left behind a picture of him and his family. Today, after 36 years, the photograph remains intact for the generations to come.
Today the X-Prize foundation, Google and the “Lunar Legacy” program, give us the possibility for anyone to send his photos on the moon for only $10.
This time our photos will be all put into a DVD (or more if that is what it takes). Although in the pas there have been moon missions where a range of multimedia has been left behind, this is the first time that Internet users will have the chance to send something of theirs.
Till now there are about 500 photos gathered for the next moon trip.
I wonder who will be the one to see the DVD over there? I don’t think the aliens are so advance, they are probably still using VHS.
Anyway if you have $10 to spare give them as its for a good cause; the funding of space exploration.
