What do you do when you are far away from home and drink a bit too much? You row home of course! This is what a 78-year-old Swede did when he had a few drinks whistle on vacations in the Danish town of Helsingor. He realised that he was out of ferry money so he stole a dingy and started rowing the 5 miles back to Sweden. Somewhere halfway thought he fell asleep until he was spotted floating in the worlds busiest shipping lane by the Danish police.

Two students from the School of Journalism in Denmark got banned from Facebook after cooking and eating a cat. They uploaded about 30 photos of their “experiment” and tried to make a point that in order to defend animal rights, no exceptions can be made.

They wanted to express their dislike towards the endless slaughter of pigs, cows and chickens. Their experiment failed as everybody turned against them, maybe their recipe, called Litter Box, had something to do with it.

Buy your own number from 1 to 1000

January 15, 2008 · Filed Under News, Odd · Comment

Well this is a once chance in a life time, your chance to buy your own number from 1 to 1000. Simply pick the number you want (if it is still available) and few days later receive it through post!

Onethousandpaintings is the company behind this and what they offer is simple:

One thousand numbers = one thousand paintings. All beautifully painted on canvas (approx. 12 x 12 x 1.5 inches). Each number is unique - the number and the demand define the price. A piece of Internet art history“.

404

Calculating the price for the number you want is a bit tricky they do not have all the same price. Here is the price calculator as stated from the official site:

Price = 1000 - number.
Initial discount: 90%.
Current discount: 20%.
The discount will decrease by an absolute 10% for every 100 paintings sold.
Min. price: $40″.

i.e. number 316 will set you back $547.20, but what the heck you will have something that none else in the world will have! From this calculation I assume that number 1000 must have been free or something!!

If you are interested hurry up because they already have sold 762 numbers. Do have in mind that they ship the numbers only to:

Paintings have been sold to the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Mexico, Brasil, South Africa, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Portugal, and Israel.

Good luck!
