June 19, 2008 · Filed Under Funny, News, Odd · Comment

On Sunday 22 of June, Ian Usher from Perth, will put his life for sale on eBay. He has an eBay account, a blog and a web page giving out details of his past and present life and explains why he decided to do this. In the auction he is basically selling him self and everything he owns:

Everything is included in the sale. Yes! absolutely EVERYTHING! Upon completion and settlement I will walk out of my home for the last time in just the clothes I am wearing, and carrying only my wallet and passport. Everything else is part of the auction and will be yours if you are the successful bidder.

Everything: Lifestyle. House. Car. Motorbike. Job. Friends. Everything that I own, and all of the things that I don’t own, but that are still an important part of my life!

So if you are interested in owning Ian and his life, then all you have to do is wait till Sunday to start bidding

world-s-largest-lasagna

May 11 is going to be a big day in history of Lasagna. The world’s largest lasagna will weight 8,800 pounds (that is as much as an average adult elephant) and will be unveiled by the Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant at the finish line of the Race for the Cure in Schenley Park on Sunday.

There is already an auction on ebay where for every 3$ you bid you win a ticket to exchange with a piece of this lasagna. If you want you can buy all the 9,600 slices of this 35? x 35? lasagna by paying the buy it now price of $28,800.00!

The restaurant has also started a blog with the steps of making of this world record. You can read some interesting facts there, i.e. the inventory of the restaurant has already 3,000 pairs of latex gloves and 6,000 feet of syran wrap to fulfill the event needs. They have also ordered about 12,000 miniature Italian Flags as it is the restaurants tradition to stick one on their lasagne’s plates.

Zemanta: It Knows What You Are Blogging

Zemanta is simply amazing. All you have to do is download this program, install it and go on blogging as usual. This little tool changes your display by adding a Zemanta menu that searches the internet for similar posts to the one you are writing and in this way you can find info, tags, pictures etc. and add them to your post.

At the moment it works with Firefox only and it supports Wordpress (hosted), Blogger and Typepad. It works better when you write in English than other languages but am sure this will change in the future. See below a print screen of an article that I wrote earlier regarding the Emo war in Mexico, and Zemanta found for me in other blogs, some pictures of Mexico.

It is worth a try. Especially is you are blogging in English :) See the video below for more info

Not sure what is more strange. That an astronaut, ο Scott Parazynski decided to climb Everest or that he will write to his blog from there through his twitter :)

After travelling to space 5 times he went on another epic journey which will certainly be interesting.

The US airforce, according to wired has forbidden their staff to access any sites that are and appear to be blogs.

The main criterion is the site’s address. If it has “blog” in it (ie blogspot) then the site is off limits. Other sites will be automatically (somehow) recognized as blogs and the access will be forbidden. Of course WordPress is in the black list.

According to the announcements blogs reduce productivity, misinform and can also jeopardize national security?

This is probably one of the stupidest ways for someone to loose their freedom. I read that 26 year old Fouad Mourtada got arrested in Casablanca for creating a Facebook account profile using Morocco Princes name, Moulay Rachid, the Kings brother.

The state news agency said that it is the only source of information regarding the Royal family and that no Royal family member is behind any website or blog.
