2038 Bug: The End Of Internet?

internet-2038-the-end

While reading at my RSS I started bumping on sites that mentioned the destruction of Internet in the 19th of January 2038 at 3:14 AM!

Apparently the Unix systems store the time as seconds as a 32bit integer number starting from the 1st of January 1970. At the 19/1/2038 the capacity will run down and according to some articles we will start counting from 1901

In other words the Internet (and not only) will collapse. Till then I imagine that they will make any appropriate changes but still some problems will be there.

You can read more info at www.2038bug.com which is trying to collect info on this matter. You can also read here a very good post and here an article from the Guardian.

For the first time ever we are witnessing a picture with something moving in Mars. The landslide shown in the photo, took place on the 19th of February near the Martian North Pole. NASA’s satellite, Reconnaissance, took this picture along with thousand others.

It might be just a common natural event but this is truly a historical picture :). Find out more here.
