oniontown

The Onion Town is a little village not far out side New York and the urban myth wants the local people to be a bit strange.? very strange

So a lot of people started visiting the village to see what really goes on. From what I found from many forums were visitor comments such “they are crazy” they tried to kill us” etc

So some people thought of filming their visit. So here are the videos from their adventure in oniontown. The first video does not show anything special but the comments in it enraged the town folks and the next bunch of visitors there were greeted with sticks and stones.

The police made a statement calling all outsiders to leave oniontown alone.

The Longest Concert In The World Lasts 639 Years

Yesterday in Halberstadt another piece from teh worlds longest concert was heard. It will keep going like this for 6 centuries till it concludes.

Back in September 2000, German composer, John Cage became 88 years old. From that day and for the next 639 years his masterpiece will play uninterrupted.

Its title is ORGAN2/ASLSP (As Slow aS Possible) and it is played at the church of St. Burchardi στο Halberstadt.

The play was written in 1985 and for piano but in 1987 Cage changed his mind and the play was rewritten for an organ.

If the long duration seems strange, do not worry as there is a very good explanation behind it. The composer decided to write a play as long as 2000-1361 = 639. The 1361 is the year that the organ first appeared in Halberstadt and 2000 is the year that the play started. Too bad that none of us will be alive to hear it by 2639.
