Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia issued a special announcement with which he informs us that he is no longer involved with Rachel Marsden. He states that they met when Rachel came in contact with Wikipedia when her online CV was filled with bad comments. He offered to sort this out personally and the matter became “too personal” so he informed the rest of the wiki team about it.
In the past week or so we have struck up something of a personal friendship, and I offered to meet with her and give some feedback on her website design and business model. As such, at least for the time being, I may have a sufficient COI [conflict of interest] regarding this case that I should not edit the article or do anything ?official? in my Jimbo-ness
Rachel did not really liked learning about her separation from wikipedia. So her response was to start selling Jimbo t-shirts with the following description
Hi, my name is Rachel and my (now ex) boyfriend, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, just broke up with me via an announcement on Wikipedia. It was such a classy move that I was inspired to do something equally classy myself, so I?m selling a couple of items of clothing he left behind, here in my NYC apartment, on eBay. Jimbo was supposed to come visit me in a couple of weeks and pick up some of his stuff, but obviously that won?t be happening now.
Both of these items have been washed, twice, with Tide extra-strength liquid detergent. Otherwise, they would not be in salable condition. I took them out of GitMo style isolation from a plastic bag in my closet (where they were placed to prevent the ongoing terrorism of my olfactory senses) and washed them out for the purposes of this auction.
This item is a medium size black ?Pronto-Uomo? brand sweater, which I am modeling in this listing?s picture. Sorry my hair is such a mess - I?m in breakup mode right now, and really couldn?t be bothered.
If you are interested in buying a t-shirt you need to hurry up as there are many bids and last time I checked they were selling at $200 for the one of them and $100 for the other.
