VOTE Your Favorite Design for the 2 Euro Coin
Friday, February 15, 2008 15:47The European Union (EU) is celebrating the 10 years from the launch of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the introduction of the euro in our lives. All the countries that participate in the euro will issue a 10 year anniversary 2 euro coin with a common, to all, design. This edition will hit the streets in the beginning of 2009.
Which is the face of the anniversary edition of the euro? That is entirely up to you! The Mint directors across Europe started a design contest and ended up with the following 5 options:
The final winner is up to you, and all you have to do is go to the EU webpage and vote for your favorite.
All EU citizens are eligible to vote (one vote per person) and the ones who voted for the winning design will enter a contest to win a set of high-value euro collector coins. Have in mind that the voting will be closed on 22 February 2008.
