115,000 people have already become members in a …weird Facebook group with title “On May 15th 2008, everybody needs to go out and panic buy CARROTS”. It may be a bit odd but I wonder how many of the 115,000 (till now) will actually go and buy carrots that day.
The guy behind this "revolutionary" movement describes us how he got this idea:

I’m not quite sure what the reason behind this is is, other than the fact that a global shortage of carrots would be quite a laugh.
So, what I’m asking everybody to do, is on the 15th May, 2008 go out and buy a load of carrots. IF EVERYBODY DOES THIS, WE CAN MAKE THIS GLOBAL SHORTAGE OF CARROTS HAPPEN!”
