i-Limb: Bionic hands in Scotland
Thursday, January 10, 2008 15:50
In Livingston, Scotland, the first factory of mass bionic limb production has opened. The company called Touch Bionic has designed i-Limb hand, the most advanced bionic hand which is already been used by 70 people around the world. this had is capable of doing almost anything and the problem as many say is not what the hand does but whether you can trust the hand. For the time being the company cooperates with clinics and various importers in Germany, Turkey, Hungary, and Romania.

I do not know how much this costs but I think the right to be able to have your “hand” back is priceless.

What was most impressive was Touch Bionic’s statement on their website about the i-limb: Some patients, mainly military personnel, particularly love the robotic nature of the uncovered i-LIMB Hand and prefer not to wear it with a cosmesis glove?. The “glove” or skin in essence is not there just for the looks, its also there for protecting the hand from dirt and water.

Dear friend Imran,
Every person on earth has his very own difficulty and we should all understand each other. It is very promising that technology has evolved so much that can help people with those great inventions.
Another example i read recently was about that powder from pigs’ bladder that recreated a humans finger! It was unbelievable. The guy’s name is Lee Spievack, google it, it is very interesting!
Thank you very much for this comment!
